History

When Bing Crosby and Bob Hope fished at Beaver Lake, the resort that hosted them was a fishing camp reached by a road little better than a goat trail.

In the decades since, the quality of both the journey and the accommodation has improved greatly. There are also many more recreations to choose from, but the trout are biting just as furiously!

It’s one of the most popular fishing lakes in the Okanagan. It is the largest of the lakes in the Dee Lakes chain. A fishing camp was first established there in the late 1920s.

Fishermen used to be transported by barge across Beaver Lake and then pulled over the shallows to the Dee Lakes. Groups also travelled by horseback to fish the nearby lakes.
