In order to preserve the wilderness surrounding our beautiful place, we converted the entire resort to be supplied with solar power in the interest of supporting the environment and our personal philosophy to maintain ecological responsible practices.
In August 2010, we installed 120 solar panels, which generate the entire power needed for the resort. At the same time the outdoor wood burning stove found its place on the resort. During colder times we heat the lodge, office, petting zoo and additional zones, only with that stove, just burning wood. No propane burning or electrical baseboards are utilized.
Solar water heaters were being bolted on to the roof of the shower building in the campground, providing all hot water needed for the campers in the summer, creating hot water with nothing more than the sunlight.
